In Canada, the cost of a Big Mac in 1980 was $1.80. It was my first part-time job and I made $3.60 per hour, so I could buy 2. The Big Mac was introduced in 1967 in PA at a cost of $.45. It’s unlikely it cost only $.50 thirteen years later. My best estimation is that a Big Mac cost between $1.40 and $1.70 in the US in 1980. Eggil’s facts are a little bit off, but his point is taken nevertheless.
