[Lonesome in Massachussets]

Around 1966, a nasty chubby little white kid I went to elementary school with, and his black friend, dropped a large rock off an overpass on the Belt Parkway in Queens, killing a woman about 60 years old who was in the front passenger seat. Her sixty-ish husband got out and grabbed the two little darlings and held them for the cops. Different world in 1966. That overpass, and almost all the overpasses in New York America have barrier fences to prevent that kind of assault these days.

Back in the 70s I was heading east on 84 in Farmington Ct. when I saw a car swerve in front of me and I had my side mirror explode, I looked up and saw 4 kids throwing rocks off the multi mixer overpass [at the time it was finished but not in use] I swerved up the ramp and caught the little Bastards with the help of the guys in the car they blew the windshield out of. We held them for the cops but when they came they would not arrest them [they were 13-14] “after all nobody was hurt”. I lost all respect for cops that day.
