We are to forgive them ... but at the same time the Lord has indicated that He has placed the sword in the hands of government for a purpose, and that goes all the way back to Genesis.

So clearly Christians do not have license to take it upon themselves to personally do something about those they imagine are displeasing to the Lord — very unlike in Islam — but that doesn’t mean we are to not use laws or fashion laws in an effort to make sure the sick bastards will not run free.
