He ran for California governor and lost due to massive cheating and then proceeded to roll over like a little bitch. I generally like what I know of his politics but he’s way too weak to be considered presidential material.

Emm no. He rolled up prior to the cheat. It was a complete farce. Practically a blocking of a Republican win in a state desperate to vote out newsom.

Voter turnout was abysmal for this character

What is he hoping to accomplish here?

Regarding Elder losing his bid for governor, I think a freeper had mentioned that election laws let losing candidates keep their campaign contributions. So Elder may be following the money.
