I think optics play a big part in this as well. I’m not a Floridian but it irks me that he ran for re-election promising to serve the good people of FLA and as soon as his new term started, he started “campaigning” for his next job. Makes it clear he is a career politician. Makes me think a lot less of him.

You might recall that Christie took flak in 2020 for neglecting his job as governor while running for the presidency. You can be sure that issue will emerge again in 2024 if DeSantis runs.
