Zahi Hawass is a corrupt, hidebound autocrat. And many of his assumptions regarding Egyptology have been successfully challenged.

As a postscript to my earlier post, in this case Dr. Hawass is correct. But it sounds like the Netflix series has set a very low bar for historical accuracy.
