In 2018 the Orange County, California GOP enjoyed an election day romp in the traditional Republican stronghold. In the following weeks the mail-in vote was counted and the Democrats flipped every single seat. Some newly elected Congressmen and women who won by double-digits were already in DC setting up their offices when they got the news.
The Democrat secret? Ballot harvesting, legal in California. The OC GOP tried to stop it, but failed. So what did they do? In 2020 they organized their own ballot harvesting campaign. And guess what – they took back their seats.
You lose every contest where you refuse to compete. President Trump learned a very hard lesson in 2020. Let’s hope he follows the example of the Orange County GOP in 2024.
P.S. – It should be clear to everybody that OC 2018 was the pilot for the 2020 presidential election.
