LOL, Who thinks it's a good idea to name someone after a fart joke device?

Her parents gave her a nice name: Caryn. The names she uses are stage names.
"Whoopi Goldberg" is a stage name which she chose for theatrical purposes.
Apparently, assuming a "Jewish-sounding" stage name struck her as a good idea at the time.
"Cultural appropriation," anyone?
