Welcome to Brazil
Oh my, how usual
They are getting what they voted for, good and hard..
How could a liberal possibly complain about this?!
Regards,
“those living across the river who have paid up to one million dollars for what should be beautiful uninterrupted views...”
This is why you never pay big money for a view, because you have no guarantee it won’t change tomorrow.
Wasting away in Favelaville
I could try some sympathy for these dem voters, but I won’t.
The more $$$$ and services they offer the “homeless” along with no consequences for drug usage and crime the worse it will become. It is tragic. Portland was one of America’s most beautiful cities now it looks like the set of a bad zombie movie.
What is even more tragic to me is the age of the “homeless” population. Many of them are quite young in comparison to what we think of with “street people”. Fentanyl and meth usage are rampant and it wrecks their brains and bodies so badly you can’t tell if the mental illness came first or later after weeks, months, or years of this lifestyle.
Thank goodness they are only "ALMOST slum-like." Imagine how much worse it would be if they actually were really slums.
That is totally ridiculous for Portland (and other cities) to allow this to get so out of control...
Lefty cities make it really hard to construct new housing, making the old housing very expensive. Aside from the drug addiction and mental illness, some people become homeless because they cannot afford to pay the rent in their home.
Build more houses/apartments/rooms in West Coast cities.
I helped build some of these. They are very nice, and expensive. I never understood the draw to them. The condos are right next to the industrial district and even before the bums moved in across the river the view was of the railyard anyway. I guess if you had a top floor condo you might see hood and st.helens. i’d rather have a few acres out west in wash. Co
I feel like I should be disturbed but for a reason I cannot fathom I cannot stop laughing and find myself rooting for the squatters.
Good.
Of course not, retaliation is a very real problem in cases like this. Not just by the people you trespass off, but the huge gaggle of lefty idiots just hanging around looking to destroy something for the fun and social good of it now with not prosecution fears.
I guarantee you the rail yard managers fear upsetting the vagabonds and those that champion for them more than all the million dollar lawyers the anti-blight crowd can hire.
I can guarantee oceans and mountains won't change "tomorrow." The lake and preserve behind my place won't change tomorrow either.
This is why you never say never.
Well these folks in the luxury apartments voted for it.
TS, most of those millionaires likely voted Democrat. Elections matter.
