All ICE are ultra low efficiency. 40 to 60% Power is lost due to friction and heat.

Turbines are not engines. Some, are very low and some have got so they are rather high as far as being efficient.

The number of cylinders is absolutely relevant. Lets see a four cylinder ICE produce 6 to 8 thousand HP.

They can not, nor never will.

All heat engines are subject to the Carnot cycle.

Here is a 14 cylinder ICE that produces 109,000 horsepower.

What is your point?

Big cylinders? Nobody said that sort of engine had to be small. Those big reciprocating engines in ships come to mind.
