Ling Temco merged with Chance Vought in 1961. It was a big deal in Dallas at that time, as Chance Vought was located in west Oak Cliff near Arlington. Lots of kids at school had dads who worked there.

Vought still exists. Location in Grand Prairie, TX but address is Dallas, TX. Maybe one is corporate. My daughter used to audit them as a CPA. If I recall, they are an Israeli company now. I might be mixed up with another firm. Oh well.

I knew someone would remember more about LTV than I do. We were studying that merger in school at the time. It pretty much set the stage for a decade or so or big name mergers. And it was a favorite stock for my boss at the time-—along with ATT, IBM, and the whole royalty in the Dow.
