“If I didn’t know any better, I’d say we were already living in the matrix.”

The problem with the matrix idea as in the universe is a simulation idea is that it doesn’t account for mass.

My take on this projection is it’s just projection it’s not even a hypothesis because without mass it’s a dream, a passing thought, a pile of extraneous BS.

This article is a bit technical but it does address the “mass” issue:

Short version: Mass at one scale does not require mass at another scale.

We know that because it you bump into a wall (mass) that does not mean that there is no “empty space” at the atomic or subatomic level.

The hologram theory requires at least one “level” above our three dimensions.

We do not experience that “level” but many scientists and mathematicians are convinced that it is very real.

My view—this is an open question—way too early to draw any conclusions either way.
