The best and easiest way of destroying armies is to surround them, cut off their supplies and force them to surrender.

Thats the way Napoleon won vs the Austrians at Ulm in 1805, the Germans won vs France in 1870, at Tannenburg in 1914, numerous times in Russia, 1941-42, etc. And the Russians did to the Germans in 1942 (Stalingrad) and at Operation Bagration, 1944.

Thats what the Russian propagandists have been promising for a year now - you know, that was to be the fate of all the Ukrainian armies East of the Dneiper.

The other easiest way of destroying armies is to break their front and force them to flee in fear of being trapped (see above). And then to destroy them in detail while they are in flight. Thats what Napoleon did to the Prussians in 1809, and the US to the Iraqis in 1991 and 2003.
