You are welcome. I see it says you must “present in person” though, so it looks like you cannot order online.

You didn’t ask for my thoughts on ivermectin, but here they are anyway.

I had high hopes for it in the beginning. It looked promising in vitro and it’s an old, safe, cheap drug. I’ve given out lots of it in countries where worm infestations are common. It’s a wonderful drug. I probably would have taken it myself when I got Covid in February of 2020, but it either had not been talked about yet, or I didn’t know about it yet. It was quite the nasty case, high fever and lung congestion so bad I felt like I was drowning. I took nothing but Tylenol, as that’s all I had. I’ve had some pretty nasty scary tropical diseases, including malaria, but it was the first time in my life I feared I might die. Then, suddenly, three days later, I was all better.

Anyway, as studies came out, some showing it helped some, others showing it did not (and none of them large enough or properly done), I recognized that pattern as I have seen it in other promising drugs that did not pan out: they look good in vitro, but in vivo they don’t do much of anything. Still, I hoped and sat on the fence about it, waiting for larger scale properly-done clinical trials. Well, when they finally came out, they showed ivermectin did not work. Drat.

A number of Freepers say the clinical trials turned out as they did because the ivermectin was not paired with zinc. According to them, ivermectin is an ionosphore of zinc and this is why it it helpful in combating Covid. I think they could well be onto something there. They also say HCQ and quercetin are ionosphores of zinc.

Quercetin has many health benefits, is anti-inflammatory, cheap, and you can order it from Amazon. I recommend the powder form, as you need to take rather a lot of it and it’s quite affordable that way. Stir it into your coffee or make a milkshake or smoothie with it. And supplement with zinc. But be careful with the zinc and don’t overdo it!

Don’t take my word for it, of course. Do your own research.

I know lots of Freepers swear by ivermectin. I don’t disbelieve their stories. On the other hand, my horrible case of the original Alpha Covid resolved in three days — had I been taking ivermectin, I might well believe it cured me. I did not get Delta, and, again, had I been taking ivermectin I might well credit it for that. I did get Omicron. It was pretty mild, like a bad cold plus weird backache. It resolved in three days, same as Alpha had. This is just anecdotal evidence and my personal experience, of course — same as the people who say it worked for them. And there have been cases of people dying of Covid while taking ivermectin. And one of the main promoters of ivermectin, Dr. Kory, got Covid even though he was taking it prophylacticly.

Also, many, if not most, Freepers take zinc along with ivermectin or HCQ, and it might work for them because of that. My opinion, based on available research, is that ivermectin doesn’t do much of anything for Covid on its own (I so wish it did!), unless you have worms (and then it really does help), and may help if taken with the correct supplementation of zinc. Anyway, you might want to look into quercetin** in place of ivermectin if you can’t get the ivermectin. Just an idea.

I am not a doctor. Please do your own research. There is a lot of false info out there, coming from both sides. It’s not easy to navigate through all the false claims made by both sides. I do understand and sympathize with wanting a safe, cheap drug to treat and prevent Covid. I want it, too. I just don’t think ivermectin is it, at least not without zinc. And if it’s all about being an ionosphere of zinc, why not use quercetin instead?

All that said, ivermectin is an old, safe, cheap drug. If someone believes in it, why not let him or her try it? I wonder, though, about taking it constantly long term. When used for parasites, it’s usually a one and done deal. I don’t know of any cases where people have taken it daily or weekly for years, as some are doing to prevent Covid these days. (HCQ is a different matter, and people have taken it constantly for years.)

*This video is a year old, but Dr. Mark does an excellent job of explaining why the in vitro study looked promising, and why ivermectin does not work in vivo (at least not without zinc), starting at about the two minute mark. I think the whole video is still worth watching:

**It’s just a mouse study, but one showing quercetin+zinc+VitC is helpful in preventing cytokine storm:

More studies here, no idea how good they are, as I did not read them:
