.
The mockingbirds eat my Blueberries.
'Fluffy' my big Maine Coon cat raids the mockingbird nest(s) - and eats ate the baby mockingbirds.
The chipmunks eat my tomatoes.
The Chipmunk 'Bucket Trap of Death' catches the chipmunks.
The chipmunk carcasses are placed on the fallen log to be eaten by the red tailed hawks.
I make a pizza with the tomatoes.
I and my girlfriend eat the pizza.
I start new tomato seedlings.
The Universe remains in perfect order.
The Circle of Life is complete.
(Or so it would seem...)
I don’t believe the ‘big bang’ was the start of the universe.
People far older than me understood this and somehow smaller people came along and ignored that understanding.
“The eternal God is a dwelling place...”
- Deuteronomy 33:27
“Behold, God is exalted, and we do not know Him;
The number of His years is unsearchable.”
- Job 36:26
Laugh all you want. All I know is that for years I had nothing to do with church because it was always filled with hypcrites who sang about an ‘awesome God’ and they’d talk about how God could do anything.
And then they’d tell me about all of the rules they’d placed on God.
Now I live in Wyoming. If I want to see God I go outside and there He is. Or I look at my life now that I mostly live according to His wisdom and I see the sense of it in my husband and children and friends.
One thing I have had to learn is that you cannot ever have a true understanding of God unless you allow for that understanding to grow. Otherwise you assert that you know everything there is to know about God. And that’s where many religious people lose me is when they claim to know everything about an eternal God who has existed infinitely and eternally.
As if they could ever wrap their tiny minds around such a being. I know I can’t.
“Be still and know that I am God” - Psalm 46:10
I do this.
What’s more is I never claim to have “faith” in God. Although I do envy the people who evidence faith in Him.
I am more like Thomas the Apostle who lacked faith but who found certainty.
I mentioned going outside and seeing God. Sometimes in the middle of a clear night I will go outside and see the valley and the hills lit by starlight. And then I look up at the masterpiece of the Heavens and I see God.
Maybe the Creation and the Creator are different, maybe they are the same. One day we will certainly find out for sure. In the meantime I know that there is no more glorious cathedral built by men that can compare to what I see when I step outside.
To me it is amazing and awe inspiring to see the vastness of the universe and know that God cares about me. I’m not even a speck and He cares about me.
And I worship an eternal God. And if God is everywhere as people like to say then why can’t He >>> BE <<< everywhere?
What rule says He isn’t?
So the universe is expanding at a tremendous rate.
What happens when it stops expanding?
He certainly is everywhere, and I was not laughing at you. I was laughing with you at your clever illustration.
We are in agreement on most of everything you said.
May God richly bless you and yours.
“So the universe is expanding at a tremendous rate.”
Or at least it appears to be.
“What happens when it stops expanding?”
God knows. Personally, it doesn’t matter much to me.
I’d say a better question is “why is it expanding at a tremendous rate, when logically we would expect the rate of expansion to be much slower?”
And may God bless you and yours and hold your House in His protection.
ce n’est pas non plus un concombre.................
Big Bang — the question of whether that was truly the beginning of the Universe or not is one that can be answered with evidence.
Agree we may never know for sure to many things we don’t know about the universe yet.
I will believe the Bible’s Genesis version until I die....................
My thinking exactly.
So did I. I also had Issue #1 of Metamorpho the Element Man.
They’d be worth money today….
A bid AMEN to that!
but at the end of the day I hope those same scientists spend a little time under a clear night sky and marvel at what God has created.
Amen to that! Every time I take my scope out under the stars, I give thanks to God for His beautiful creation.
🔭🔭🔭
It was God’s nature to create the Universe. It is ours to marvel at, and give Him thanks.
It’s also our nature to try to understand how things work, our natural curiosity.
At some point, however, we just have to marvel and enjoy what He did.
My mom threw away them all when I joined the Marines.................
My Mom did some of that. Ouch.
I would love to be a part of this list!
In our Moms defense, to them they were just trash....................
I have asked myself “ where is our galaxy,” or “where is ‘The Local Group’ in the universe?” I don’t know if that has been, or can be answered. I guess maybe we have to know the boundaries of the universe to know that, don’t we?
Yup.
