She was previously arrested and charged in 2022 for an anti-Asian hate crime.

Police arrested a Brooklyn woman with a lengthy rap sheet in connection to a deadly act of arson at the NYCHA Queensbridge North Houses in Long Island City back in 2021, the NYPD announced Monday.

Tandika Wright, 36, was charged on March 24 with murder, manslaughter, assault, criminal possession of a weapon, and two counts of arson. Wright has 37 prior arrests, police say.

Wright was previously arrested and charged on Jan. 20, 2022 for an anti-Asian hate crime in a Manhattan subway station.

Years ago I read that something on the order of 85 percent of crimes were perpetrated by a tiny percentage of criminals. If you rob houses and that’s your job you’re probably doing several each day.

I wish I could remember the actual numbers, but I once read an article about the cost to imprison a career criminal. It was something like $150,000 a year. But the author was actually pro-prison. He noted that when free, such criminals cost society $300,000 each year.

(I’m just guessing at those numbers, but I think I’m in the ballpark.)

She needs to identify as a person with a clean record, and sue anyone that tries to declare otherwise

A few decades ago, it cost $145 per day to house criminals on average. Not sure what the cost is today though. It very like.y is way up there, 3specislly considering how much more cri inals try to game the system when in prison today.

When you sum up the costs to keep prisoners they are huge. You sometimes see prisoners pardoned because their medical costs would break the budget. New York and California used COVID as an excuse to lower the budget outlay. If it’s your budget it doesn’t matter that society pays an even bigger cost.

“Send them to El Salvador to put into their prison.”

Prisons in El Salvador are pretty much controlled by MS-13 and Mara-18...and they HATE Home erecti. A death sentence.

Frankly, I’d rather send them to Nicaragua. That country doesn’t have much of a gang or erecti problem, especially in prisons. Step out of line, get shot. Even their border guards, at least those I have seen, are some nasty SOBs.

I remember about sixty years ago, a police captain in a large Eastern City said that if he could just remove 100 people from the city he could stop 95% of the crime.

Of course the City Fathers refused to let him do it. Maybe the city fathers are actually getting some sort of kickback from the criminal element in those cities.
