I guess I’m getting “culturally deprived” in my old age. Every time I read about a “star” or an “actor” involved in something I don’t recognize the name and when a picture is published I don’t recognize them or recall seeing them.
That;s probably not my loss.
They’re talking about his “meteoric rise,” but I never heard of him, either.
It’s liberating in a way. Since I stopped watching network TV, haven’t been to a movie in a number of years, I find there are whole generations of celebs I have no idea who they are. I see their names on the front page of the Enquirer when I go through the checkout at the grocery store, but I know little about them other than whatever I can deduce from the headline.
I wouldn’t know most stars if they sat down next to me at Denny’s.
