I always take my cart back...to get the quarter.
Quarter or not, I always take my cart to the cart area.
The wife and I have a spot in the truck console cup holder for the “shopping cart quarter”. It’s for shopping at Aldi’s. There may, or may not be quarters in the actual console well, but who wants to scrabble around in there looking for a quarter?
“I always take my cart back...to get the quarter.”
Isn’t that only Aldi?
You’ve got to make a deposit on the use of a shopping cart?
I take it you live in a high-crime area.
I love Alde’s for that...to get the quarter back, return the cart to bad Walmart isn’t that smart...
I always take mine back and don’t receive any quarters. Also, My wife always uses an electric cart provided by the stores, and I return it and “PLUG IT IN”. The reason: not because it proves my ‘goodness’, and beyond ‘it is the right thing to do’, but because when I have to get a cart for her, and none of them are charged, it makes me angry. And I don’t like being angry. Nor do I enjoy seeing my wife suffer because of someone else’s selfishness.
If someone is about to get a cart I say “Take Mine!” saves them a quarter and they may gain one when they bring the cart back. After it is only a quarter. Not even a silver one any more. about the equivalent of an old real 1 1/2 cent copper penny.
No financial incentives here but I do take it back to the rack, or at least off the parking lot and back to the building or store sidewalk in some cases. Never leave in the lot — I’ve spent hours repairing parking lot rash on my vehicles and don’t wish that on (almost) anyone.
