I never count my money at the ATM.

In all the time I have used ATMs, thousands of transactions, I have never gotten the incorrect amount.

The money comes out of the machine and into my pocket in one smooth movement. I can count it later. There is no value to counting it at the ATM.

ATM in the daytime, and put my wallet in my one pocket and the cash in the other - near my pistol.

Same here. I spend as little time at an ATM as possible. Besides, even if you got the wrong amount (which has never happened to me either), what are you going to do? Bang on the ATM like it was a Coke machine or something, hoping that the rest falls out?

I also primarily use the ATM that is in the same building as where I work. So if anybody decides to "jug" me, they are going to have to sit in the lobby until I finish my workday. That could be quite boring.

A while back, a bank near me had a problem with too many twenties coming out, rather than too few. There’s a camera, however, and those who didn’t return the extra cash got into trouble.

Dang it I’ve been doing it all wrong. I try to go when i see loads of people standing around the machine, smoking pot, thinking “safety in numbers “, and then I count it out as loud as i can, and then recount incase someone didnt hear me the first time. Then I fake a disabling limp as I walk back to the car all out of breath bent over wheezing at the door. I drop the money, then chase it all over the parking lot hop8ng noone noticed.

” I have never gotten the incorrect amount.”

I have a friend who got an extra 20 out of the cash machine once. He asked for 40 and got 60. The receipt said 40 so the problem was the machine.

I guess I’m lucky. I have never lived where it wasn’t safe to use an ATM. I have a concealed carry permit and several pocket pistols, but have only carried a few times when visiting other locations. Small town New Hampshire is still quite safe. When I retired, I moved to SW Florida but avoid Tampa and Fort Myers. It’s sad really. I used to enjoy downtown Boston for hockey games and baseball.
