SB - In 1984 we had our house built we got western red cedar plank siding. In 2009 we went through a whole house remodel. As we are in the woods, we had problems with woodpecker holes almost every year. Hubby tried buckshot, sprays, if we were away sone of the holes were so big they pulled out the 6” thick batt wall insulation. In the winter it was all we could do to shove some aluminum foil in the holes. These were either hairy or downy woodpeckers. Very common. Once a bird develops a habitual behavior they cannot stop. I hope this does not happen to you. In 2009 we went with good quality vinyl siding and have not had a single problem. Had to share that.

Thanks for that! Hopefully there won’t be any issues but if there are...well I have a tool for that. A shotgun.
