All I know is, when COVID broke, my first thought was, “So this is how they’re going to get Trump.”

Going after DeSantis on this issue is very foolish for him.
And if the dire expectations for the side effects (of death) for the vaccines prove true, that’s going to blowback on Trump big time.

Me too - it seemed beyond obvious, but I was raised as a medical skeptic anyway.
I never took the flu shot, never take antibiotics - very rarely have I even seen a doctor in my 70 years. I do catch colds, but they last a week or two and go away.
So when the masking and lockdowns started being forced on us for something that was exactly like a common cold, I knew it was bullshit.
For more “normal” people, who consult doctors for everything, and follow their advice (even conservatives), the Covid fear-mongering was far more compelling than it was for someone like me.
I was impervious - not just because I was predisposed to distrusting Big Gov, but also because I was predisposed to distrusting modern medicine and Big Pharma.
Don’t get me wrong: if it’s cancer or heart or any of a hundred other serious ailments, I will avail myself of the appropriate treatments - and consider myself fortunate.
But there is definitely a mass hypochondria gripping the world today. People’s medicine cabinets are WAY too full if you ask me. I’m not a doctor, but the problem is that doctors and hospital systems are making way too much money on this racket - they are never going to end the gravy train by telling people they really don’t need 90% of the medication they are taking.
Not all conservatives are distrustful of modern medicine the way I am - a lot of FReepers were very much afraid of Covid, and thus bought into the whole scam.
I just remember Dr. FRAUD SMILING ear to ear at the first COVID Presser.....I then KNEW he was a FRAUD!
