Most good drivers will take a job if it is at least a dollar a mile, which I think is reasonable. But the clients often think we are employees of the restaurant and think the restaurant should be paying us. DD is sort of like Lyft with food instead of passengers. I can’t tell you how many times a client has reamed me after the fact in a text message for the rotten food. I always politely tell them how to contact Door Dash with their complaint and wish them a much better outcome in the future.
Door Dash is a fun job. I was a legal secretary for 40 years and a fitness trainer, too. When I retired I picked it up for a little extra income, but it is so much fun that I’d do it even if I didn’t need the money. But I am sickened by the drivers who give those of us who care a black eye, and so do so many other good drivers I know.
That’s really weird. I know which restaurants deliver. If I go to DD, or some other service, I know it’s someone unconnected to the restaurant.
“…but it is so much fun that I’d do it even if I didn’t need the money.“
Dang, you can’t POSSIBLY live in the LI NY metro area!
