1 in 4 parents lied about child’s COVID status, study says

The study, co-conducted by University of Utah Health researchers, analyzed 580 responses from a sample of over 1700 U.S. adults. These responses all came from parents who had a child under the age of 18 living with them during the pandemic.

In the most common situations, parents who had a child they thought or knew had COVID didn’t reveal the sickness to someone who was with the child. The same parents to lied or misrepresented their child’s COVID status (or nonadherence to guidelines) were also more likely to allow their child to break quarantine rules.

Of the 580 respondents, nearly 26% reported either lying or not following guidelines in at least one of seven behaviors. Aside from not telling people their kid was sick or breaking quarantine rules, parents also reported: avoiding getting a COVID-19 test for their child; lying about being vaccinated; or saying their child didn’t have to quarantine when they knew they should.

Parents didn’t just lie to avoid COVID restrictions, either... According to the study, some parents reported lying about their child’s age, saying they were older in order to get the vaccine. Other parents said they would claim their child was not vaccinated when they actually were.

“Researchers for the study said...public health measures may have been compromised...ultimately raising the number of COVID-related cases and deaths.”

There were probably millions of parents who had to chose
going to work and paying the rent, over sitting at home with a child who looks, acts and sounds healthy, but is testing positive. Most likely, some kids saw their parents deliberately and repeatedly lying for the first time.
It would be a tough choice to make.
You can only miss so much work before you are replaced.

The tone of the study is creepy - how DARE those parents engage in behavior in defiance of us self-appointed experts. Clearly we need to crack down HARDER on the next “crisis”.

The sanctimonious behavior people would display toward those who popped positive or became sick with COVID-19.

It was as if the latter were to be considered part of a lower order of humans, incapable of caring for themselves properly, or morally defunct for presumably not following this hare-brained mask or “social distancing” rule, or that brand new tyrannical diktat designed to ruin your life or confine your soul.

I lied multiple times about my child’s Covid status and mine. It’s no ones business but our own, and I do not take orders from other people.

My daughter who had had Covid was required to leave school and be remote for a week or two everytime they came in contact with someone who had had a positive test result, while kids who had the shot could stay in school.

THE PEOPLE BEHIND THE COVID LOCKDOWNS AND MASKS AND MANDATES ARE EVIL, AND THE PEOPLE WHO FELL FOR THE FEARMONGERING ARE FOOLS AND COWARDS.

I will NEVER, EVER FORGET WHO ANY OF YOU WERE... EVER.

Maybe they weren’t really lying. After all, if you don’t know the truth - and Covid is “tricky” - how can it be a lie?
