Anthony Richardson is turning heads at the NFL combine and the oddsmakers have taken notice.

The Florida quarterback posted two combine records for his position on Saturday with a 40.5-inch vertical jump and a 10-foot, 9-inch broad jump. He also ran a blistering 4.43 40-yard dash.

At 6-foot-4 and 244 pounds, Richardson is an elite athlete. Anybody who watched him play in the SEC knows that. And now there are some rumblings that he is in consideration for the No. 1 pick in the upcoming NFL draft.

I agree with your JaMarcus Russell comparison of Richardson. I think CJ Stroud will turn out to be the best QB from this year’s draft.

No question of Bryce Young’s talent, but a 5’10” QB would make me nervous. And I don’t think Young has the quickness of a Kyler Murray to offset his frame.

He missed the Bama game in 2022. He might have made the difference in that one. He had a bad ankle in a couple games, which limited him mobility, and defenses knew that, and dared him to beat them through the air. Now granted our receivers this year, outside of Pearsall, were hot garbage, but still.

2022? You mean 2021. Mullen was going to stick with his boy Emory NO MATTER WHAT. It became an ego thing with him. He was the QB guru and was going to show everybody. He claimed AR-15 was "injured" multiple times so as not to play him when it was obvious to anybody who bothered to watch the games that he was clearly better than Emory Jones. AR-15 did injure his ankle early in the Kentucky game but he played though it. Lots of guys get banged up and push through it. That doesn't say "fragile" to me.

Josh Allen started 11 Games his first season.

Started all 16 games his second year and went 10-6, and took the Bills to their first Post-Season in years.

Now I will say, Richardson seems to be a good kid. I know he would take the time to talk to UF fans, and sign autographs.

The fact Mullen basically had no choice but to play Trask, and had the other QBs ahead of him, is another reason why Mullen is no longer in Gainesville.

Mullen was a solid OC. That's it. He was not a head coach. He wasn't even a particularly good judge of QBs. Remember him having Brantley ahead of Cam Newton at UF? Remember him pushing Matt Corral out and taking Emory Jones instead? Remember him trying to get Trask to transfer when he got to UF? Remember him sticking with Flippy ahead of Trask until Flippy breaking his ankle FORCED Mullen to play Trask? I remember all of that.

Yes, I should have said 2021.

Mullen owed his reputation to a once-in-a-generation QB like Tim Tebow, who would have succeeded regardless of where he played.

He did play great in his senior year, just enough to fool the Raiders.

I remember us and Auburn stuffing their ground game in 06 and them not being able to do anything through the air once they couldn't run....which is why LSU lost both games that year.

Brady played catcher in baseball and had exceptional arm strength and accuracy against base stealers and runners.

I think what doomed Brady on Draft Day was the photograph the NFL took of every player in gym shorts.

From the waist up, Brady did not look like a guy who could survive a full speed NFL tackle.

I’m still hopping mad about losing Corral, I say we could have won a Natty with him.

yep. Tebow and he does deserve credit for Dak Prescott at Moo U. Mullen stuck with his friends as assistant coaches even when it was obvious they sucked and he didn’t recruit worth a damn. Notice how the team got worse and worse as the Sharkhumper’s players cycled through and Mullen had to start using more of his own recruits?

Brady always had incredible strength, vastly underrated. QB is hard, rule changes have made it easier and more protective of the position.

Interestingly enough, Brady threw right-handed of course, but batted left-handed.

I don’t care for the Cowboys; but, like you, I’ve got to hand it to Jimmy Johnson for his coaching philosophy and skills.

I don’t remember the running back’s name, but he fumbled in a meaningless game, since the Cowboys had already clinched the playoffs.

Johnson cut his ass the next day.

Re: Lose him to Free Agency

First Round draft picks are locked up for five years if the team wants that.

In the sixth year, the drafting team can hit a QB with a Franchise Tag and still pay - for one season - less than a top QB would get in FA.

Rick Leach (QB Michigan, drafter by the Broncos, 4th round maybe), signed with the Detroit Tigers, made the wrong choice, I think.

It will be interesting to see if the Ravens use the non-exclusive tag on Lamar Jackson tomorrow. Given his injury history, maybe let another team sign him and then they can either match or take two first round picks. If they would get a top ten pick this year, I’d be tempted to let Lamar go and draft a QB.
