There is a pitched battle, a decisive battle, right now over control of accepted reality (-ies). A U.S. Senator, during a Senate hearing, can be accused of a crime against humanity for not agreeing that male human beings can give birth to babies. A group of violent rioters, attacking police officers, throwing 'molotov cocktails' at officers and property, can be termed 'part of an idea', part of a 'mostly peaceful protest' - while average citizens, walking calmly around their Capitol building, escorted by law enforcement, can be called a 'violent insurrection' that killed five officers.
Anyone challenging these perceptions are condemned as morally deficient, anti 'democracy' (no definition of that term offered), enemies of the established natural order.
It is psychological warfare, fighting over redefining words and terms (does gay mean 'happy' or 'possessing a specific sexual orientation'? Or both?) If one side can victoriously claim victory and redefine traditional concepts, traditional values, then they can possibly overturn the established social order. They (very) emotionally demand the moral high ground, claiming that those who defend traditional practices are causing needless pain, destruction and death.
Radical views and practices that were marginally dismissed two generations prior are now strongly supported as the norm [not 'new' norm]; a twisted moral high ground is seized and angrily defended - in the same way these recent moralists recently accused the traditionalists that opposed them not long before.
It is a ploy for anarchy and using anarchy to destabilize the established order is the road to revolution!
Modern anarchists are well trained and well supported financially. They know their opponents are likely neither. It is the decisive battle of our present age and the outcome is at present uncertain.
