I supported Cruz in 2016, because with all the crap and inanity coming from Trump (Cruz’ father killed Kennedy???), I thought Trump was just out to destroy the Republicans. I was very impressed by his judicial appointments and the fact that he truly seemed to be acting in the true interests of the middle-class workers. On issues, I consider him the best President since Reagan, possibly even superior. But on character, he is an overgrown three-year-old, and it was his downfall. His incompetence empowered Fauci and Brix and Rosenstein and the rest to utterly destroy American freedom, even after, I believe, he fought his hardest to preserve it.
So yeah, I’m a Trumpism-without-the-buffoon guy. If Trump does get the nomination, I will fervently support him, but for the sake of America, I pray to God we get someone with his political values and his sincerity, but with even an ounce of professionalism or competence.
You are misinterpreting his quick and colorful denials of the constant attacks on him, attacks made by those who suffer from a severe malady call TDS.
Not only can he not let these attacks stand unanswered, his rebuttal has to be forceful and memorable enough to overwhelm in staying power whatever effect the attacks had. It’s tactics, or maybe even strategy, necessary to counter the small-minded.
That’s not even getting into the substance of the “debate” going on, which is a whole nother subject.
I've known plenty of otherwise competent professionals that needed to have their teeth handed to them in a baggie. Trump or bust.
