Amen to that, (except for the ELCA, which has gone woke). The LCMS is still abiding by Luther's catechism. A desire to return the Church to the Apostolic faith as taught by Jesus, and a definitive move away from unbiblical behaviors, were the reasons for the 95 Theses and eventual schism.
I remember as a boy that Dad didn’t care much for LCMS, but that was back in the late 50s. I think it was because he viewed LCMS as being quite liberal, but I never really knew why. We attended the Lutheran church on the Cornell Campus (Ithaca, NY) which was very conservative and had traditional services.
