Is there a transcript somewhere? Trying to scroll through a 5 hour interview to re-find specific points is, well, tedious...

Getting YouTube transcripts is a little tedious. How to Get the Transcript of a YouTube Video

The way I go about it:

1. Click the six sided gear icon next to the CC box in the video frame, follow the menus to set subtitles to English.
2. Click the three horizontal dots at the top right of the video description, they should be next to the word "save+".
3. Select transcript. For a five hour video it will take a while to load.
4. For finding keywords at a specific time, keep time stamps turned on
5. Highlight (usually left click on the mouse) inside the transcript frame and hold mouse and page down key to highlight the transcript text.
6. When the cursor pages down to the bottom of the transcript frame, all the text should be highlighted.
7. Copy the highlighted text to a word processor. Wordpad will work, since it has a text search function.

I hope that's not too confusing.
