“What makes us think we have all the tapes now?”
There are two major types of tapes: of the entrances and of violent activity locations.
Any gaps would indicate the ghost of Rose Mary Woods roams in DC.
The entrances I can understand. A list of all entrances is available to the public and it would be obvious if any tapes of entrances and courtyards were missing.
But “violent activity locations” are different. How do we know we have a complete list of violent activity locations? The only way we could know is if all testimony of witnesses to violence were made public, and the witnesses were able to describe the locations.
But can we assume all testimony of witnesses to violence has been made public? I don’t think so.
If violent activity occurred under an obscure overpass or in an obscure alley, etc., and was incriminating to the FBI or Capitol police, they could both withhold the tapes and also suppress relevant witness testimony.
I happen to believe that this is the real reason why so many innocent January 6 protesters are rotting in prison without trial or bail - and no rights to visitation even by their lawyers: they are being silenced.
