In my last job, two of us didn’t have college degrees, much less Masters Degrees. We were the ones they called in to clean up the messes made by the others.
That’s the way it goes many times. My boss is retiring and it’s open for interviews now. Had a few people tell me to apply, but I cannot. The position requires an electrical engineering degree (even though there is no engineering involved in the position). Smarts and common sense over a 1-1/2 decades doesn’t matter, sadly. Let me tell you, most electrical engineers I’ve met aren’t the best suited to manage people, at all.
