Mammoths were still around 7 thousand years ago. Same amount of oxygen.
A few, but most had already died off, like the bigger Colombian. There are always a few of any species that initially survives a catastrophic event, but eventually succumb.
That was what got the dinosaurs in the end. Not enough oxygen to support their high oxygen adapted bodies.
