From my perspective O'Keefe is a tough boss which probably leads to much of their success. Hes clearly fearless which is what it takes to get rid of the commies now in charge. So what happens when he achieves the biggest success ever at his job:
He is put on leave and they look for someone else. He got in bed with the wrong people. Hopefully he will tell them all to go pound sand and start over with the right group picking out the few people loyal to him.
