Speaking of “party coffers” I’m noticing for quite some time that over half of the fundraising letters I get are from Merrifield, VA. That’s where many of the professional fund raisers are. None of the Reps offices are actually there. There is no guarantee that much, if any, of the money that goes to Merrifield actually gets to a candidate. And I notice that many fundraisers just use a Reps name for some other “cause.”

When I want to help a Rep/Sen I only send money to their home office.

True. Regarding emails - and not giving to 'parties' - I got two requests for donation in one day ostensibly from Ted Cruz. I always scroll to the bottom of an email where the source of the request is usually listed. Both used the exact same Ted Cruz banner with Texas backdrop across the top; but at the bottom of one it said it was from the 'NRSC' National Republican Senatorial Committee, 'not paid for by or in support of any particular candidate.'

Of course they both link to WinRed, which shares the money, as do its two subsidiaries, 'revv' and ??? (can't remember.) It appears that Jim Jordan uses his own 'secure' donation site; I hope so.
