ThankQ. I don’t know either. I bring stuff for FReeQs to examine from what is circulating on gab.
Are we watching a movie?
The G&W has just undergone an interesting proctological exam and post-exam spanking by the EPA. If one wishes to learn how obtuse and arcane are the modern emissions requirements that railroads face, it is a profitable if confusing read. The EPA has been out to kill internal and external combustion engines whether it is done quickly or one at a time. The mental exercises of "Tiers" and credits will make the average person's eyes glaze over, but it is in place and the EPA pursues it like Inspector Javert.
But WRT that footage of the track, a telephoto lens exaggerates track defects. Yes, it is poorly maintained trackage, but that is not a rarity in the US and never has been. It is as similar to what NS has through East Palestine, OH as a B Level maintenance gravel road is to an interstate highway, Sort of like comparing raisins to grapes. My guess is that that particular track has a 10MPH maximum speed restriction; the footage may have also been sped up to accentuate the rock & roll of the train.
The push is on to have electric, autonomous trains on a nationalized rail network, and we have just seen a new crisis that won't go to waste in a renewed effort to turn the railroads into a genuine state monoply rather than what has become something of a crypto-fascist setup that allows the Vanguards and Blackrocks to get dividends from corporations that have a railroad attached until there aren't any more railroad assets to dispose of.

You right.
I agree.. There's a lot to be depressed about. And maybe poor Fetterman is sad because he's being controlled.
