Agreed. When I saw that this "news" was sourced from an "indian shitsite", my BS detector pegged.
A quick search of major news organizations and science news sites reveal nothing of importance, just a typical run of the mill solar flare which has happened thousands of times before.
Thanks, not every X-class flare is potentially dangerous, other than the usual radio blackout when it happens. This one was very short and intense, as the NOAA data at spaceweather shows, and after you look at these things for a while you know which will produce a CME and which probably won’t. They haven’t said yet, but CME prediction is about as reliable as election polling, and if this flare was quick enough to not have lifted solar mass out and flung it into space, it’s over with.
Always good to know the actual science rather than what bloggers report.
