Agreed. When I saw that this "news" was sourced from an "indian shitsite", my BS detector pegged.

A quick search of major news organizations and science news sites reveal nothing of importance, just a typical run of the mill solar flare which has happened thousands of times before.

It takes light from the Sun 8 minutes to get here. The solar storm itself moves slower, I forget how much, but it will get here later.

Hopefully it will mess up the Chinese as well.

I’ve seen a couple of documentaries—one on the insipid Leftist Weather Chanell and I don’t look forward to grid destruction and the strongest people living a few days longer by killing and eating the weaker people. And then dying from raw sewage and disease.

We should have spent our billions on hardening and protecting the grid (Ted Cruz actually brought that up) instead of wimpy Ukrainians and climate change lies.

Thanks, not every X-class flare is potentially dangerous, other than the usual radio blackout when it happens. This one was very short and intense, as the NOAA data at spaceweather shows, and after you look at these things for a while you know which will produce a CME and which probably won’t. They haven’t said yet, but CME prediction is about as reliable as election polling, and if this flare was quick enough to not have lifted solar mass out and flung it into space, it’s over with.

Always good to know the actual science rather than what bloggers report.
