Rep. Nancy Mace (R-SC) torched Republicans and Democrats alike on Wednesday night during a rousing speech at the Washington Press Club's Congressional Dinner.
Journalists and lawmakers packed into the glamorous Waldorf Astoria hotel in Washington, DC, for the 77th annual event.
Mace, already known for her blunt and outspoken ways, brought down the house with roasts of her controversial colleagues as the featured Republican speaker - and sprinkled her speech with some light-hearted jabs as well.
She made several jokes about Rep. Matt Gaetz (R-FL) related to a federal probe into whether he had committed sex acts with a minor, including claiming he was not at the dinner because he 'couldn't find a babysitter' - before quickly adding, 'to be his date.'
The congresswoman even went after House Speaker Kevin McCarthy over his 15-round vote to win the gavel last month, quipping that she hasn't 'seen someone assume that many positions to appease the crazy Republicans since Stormy Daniels.'
She then turned her attention to Rep. Ilhan Omar (D-MN), who recently got kicked off the House Foreign Affairs Committee by the Republican majority in a House-wide vote.
'I tried looking for Ilhan Omar in the audience too tonight but it looks like she lost her seat,' Mace said.
Looking around at the crowd's mixed reaction, she added: 'I was sure I'd get booed on that one.'
Someone called Mace's attention to Omar's presence in the audience, to which she said: 'Oh there you are, baby!'
