Nothing to do with gravity or "relative to height of fall", which BTW has nothing to do with speed (i.e., velocity).

I always enjoy your posts. Kinda' sorry I stepped in to correct your original post on the subject, because the angst is not worth it. But physics terms are very precise. This has nothing to do with my education. Just the facts.

However, without knowing the elasticity of butter (presumably in a container of some sort which would affect it’s elasticity), the relative elasticity of the toe struck by the butter (incased in some sort of foot ware), and the area presented in the collision along with the instantaneous rate of deformation it’s hard to say. Plus the rate of energy dissipation due to losses to sound and heat exchange and transferred motion to the foot...

I calculate the impact would equal exactly 4.17 Owies per square “Dang-it-alls”.
