Evacuations were ordered near a railroad crossing in a small eastern Ohio town Friday night after a train derailed and there was a fire, officials said.
There were no known injuries after the derailment in East Palestine, a village on the Pennsylvania border and north of West Virginia, the mayor said, but firefighters from three states were responding.
It was not clear what was in the train cars. [Probably not orange juice] Norfolk Southern said it was aware of the train derailment and was coordinating with local officials and also mobilizing its own teams
East Palestine is a community of around 4,700 around 20 miles southeast of Youngstown.

Was it carrying eggs?
I worked for Railinc so they know exactly what’s on that train.
Appears to be quite a large fire.
I wonder if it was carrying propane. We had an incident near here 27 years ago with a leaking propane rail car.

-Anthrax.
-Ranching country. There are a lot of sheep in the hills. Good, I like that.
-It'll create a panic.
-But it may not evacuate everybody. There's always some joker who thinks he's immune. I need something so scary it'll clear 300 square miles...

Sweet Close Encounters reference.
People within a mile of the James Street crossing were told to leave, and people in other areas were told to stay indoors.
"James" = Jacob.
All looks under control to me.
Street view at that crossing displays a prominent ghost sign for AdaMsoN Specialties.

Around the front of the building (217 E. Clark) is the entrance for the now closed window business, with the image of a half-round transom window:

It's like what the Reverend Mother said, in reverse:
"When God closes a window somewhere he opens a door."

The Conductor has a book of what is in each car that he hands the fire department.
Also Two of the most poisonous destructive websites or whatever you wanna call them is Reddit and TikTok. Those will be the destruction of the youth in America. Funny how they want you to owe nothing and be happy, but us, the baby boomers, do have something and are proud to owe something which we worked very hard to get with the help of the almighty God. But once we’re gone the next generation will realize how good they had it with their parents. This do nothing generation will realizes that we were right but by then it’ll be too late for them. Do I feel sorry for them kinda …only because I know there are still those that were brought up to love this nation and hold dear everything that freedom offered. And the liberties that we held so dear and sacred that were given to us by God and our brave soldiers who paid the ultimate price. That radicalized lazy bunch generation will soon be yearning for what they once had. But too late… those guaranteed freedoms Will be gone.
It saddens me to say they’re the ones who will suffer greatly because they will be the ones who have to balance this mess. Probably without success.
It looks like an oil fire.
Good thing the dimrats hate pipelines.
Thanks, dude.
Or ethanol. Where I live I see carload after carload of the ethanol we make from corn leaving for parts unknown.
bttt
I can’t believe this hasn’t caused more discussion on FR. This was a MAJOR environmental disaster, that looks like it will contaminate the water supply over a huge area.
