Newsome is more like Jim Jones all the time
Jim Jones himself was a rabidly partisan Democrat. He was regularly courted by the likes of Willie Brown, Walter Mondale and Jerry Brown. His friendship and support of such people, IMHO, enabled him to carry out his crimes.
