Well, actually it is not across the country. From their website "COVID-NET is a population-based surveillance system that collects data on laboratory-confirmed COVID-19-associated hospitalizations among children and adults through a network of over 300 acute-care hospitals in 13 states.

What is an acute-care hospital? HospitalView tracks over 7300 hospitals divided into 9 different types and the COVID-NET monitors 300 to determine their data? Please, just stop.

That's a perfectly acceptable sample size for this purpose.

Do you have some reason to believe the hospitalization proportions at these 300 hospitals aren't representative?
