**Don’t jog, it’s a garbage exercise modality.**

I had an OTR workout routine I did when stopped at a truck stop after a long day, before getting a shower. Though tired I would do various stationary exercises, then do sprints. Nearly every truck lot has a slope of some sort. I would do approx 100 yard sprints for maybe 20 minutes running upslope.

One 2008 fall afternoon (age 54), at a TA stop that had practically no slope, I had finished one of the sprints, and a truck leaving stopped by me. The driver said: “Mister, you are fast!”

I laughed and said, “I hate jogging, so I try to get it over with as fast as I can”.

He laughed, but then said, “Seriously, my son is a sprinter in high school. I’ve watched him compete for several years. Mister, you are fast!”

I thought about entering a senior olymics, but never did. You see, I never started the sprint explosively. Didn’t want to risk a pulled muscle. But I did indeed hate jogging.

That’s pretty cool. I’m going to compete in Masters Track & Field in 2 years time.
Either 100m & 200m or 200m & 400m based upon bodyweight then.
