I am a scientist as was my auntie

Her legacy included Mercury and Apollo amongst other things

I’m not nearly as accomplished. I claim a couple of lasers and the James Webb Dpace Telesvope

Now if I were to hook up with a woman 30 years younger,
she would be 47 and way too old for me.
At my age all I have are dreams anyway.

Scientists can be great if they are prepared to look at data that does not support their views or makes them uncomfortable.

Check out the link I gave you:

It may be out of your comfort zone—but that is the territory that can make us all wiser.

My dad was the same age or generation as Buzz. Dad was never much familiar with the internet at all, but one day I asked him “Hey, would you like to see Buzz Aldrin punch out a Moon landing conspiracy nutbar?” Sure!

I got it loaded up on the screen and he started to watch it unfold, I could see an irrepressible grin start to buildup. My dad was pretty straight laced, college educated, but for some reason he knew entirely too much about pool, poker, booze, and other dangerous pursuits. “That’s a pretty good right hook!” something like that. It was one of those memorable moments, and for so many things, we have Buzz to thank for that, at least.

What was great the locals refused to prosecute, they couldn’t find anybody who GAF.

If you are interested in “the other side of the story” the book is a real page turner even if you don’t like the author:

The ages of two lovers are no one else’s business. It’s baseless gossip, when so many people around us are so messed up in real ways. The gossip’s drug problems, casual sex and many other problems might even be motives for the finger pointing.

Buzz Aldrin is our man of “all times”. Pilot/veteran, astronaut, author of both factual and sci-fi books (I have his in person signed “Return” / with John /Barnes, - A Novel of The Human Adventure”, 2000, A Forge Book, Dougherty), scientist, space exploration advocate, etc.

Straight talker too. Has an honesty to his convictions that is refreshing.

An aside: At 93, I would be marrying a Russian woman as I would be in a hurry ( as in rushing) to be around long enough for a honeymoon). Congrats to him and his wife.

I’m trying to get to our 50th wedding anniversary this year. Cardiac arrest and cancer almost made that impossible, but like Aldrin, I’m a strong-willed, almost stubborn kind of guy. Want to enjoy life as long as I can before the final journey.

I’d be interested in you answering the basic questions already asked.

(I mean apart from you kind of crapping all over a thread about Buzz Aldrin getting married at 93 and going all Moon Landing Hoax)

Is it really your contention that the Apollo astronauts are all liars? Everyone of them, everyone in Mission Control? Gene Kranz?

My view is that the Apollo astronauts were military men who did their duty—they were told to lie in the name of national security and national honor and they obeyed orders.

Gene Krantz was in on it. There may have been one or two others at Mission Control that knew, but there was no “need to know” for anyone else. They practiced and practiced and practiced with simulations for years, so they were fed “simulated” data and they had no basis for believing it was not legit.

I encourage you to check out the Aulis web page if you are truly interested in pursuing this subject:

https://www.aulis.com/investigation.htm

One book that goes through the “big picture” discussion as well as some of the details is this one:

https://www.amazon.com/One-Small-Step-Great-Dominate-ebook/dp/B07NB2QL13

Most Freepers now understand that .gov lies and lies and lies—but few are ready to think through what that really means.

I “saw” the moon landing on TV as a teenager—and I believed it was real for many many years.

One anecdote I have told here before:

The day after Apollo 11 I was playing golf with my grandmother—she was a former club champion and this was a weekly ritual for us during the summer.

I had just “watched” the “moon landing” on TV the night before and I was thrilled.

At one point I said to grandma—”last night was the most important day in the history of the human race—we just landed on the moon”.

My grandmother was a sweet old lady—never got angry—never raised her voice—until that one moment.

She stared me straight in the eye and said words I have never forgotten:

“Never believe anything you see on TV. We did not land on the moon.”

Of course I thought she was batty at the time...but now I realize she was a lot smarter than I was....

Footnote: Grandma lived to be 106 years old—amazing woman.

Well if your grandma said the moon landings were faked, that settles it for me ! Why didn’t you say so before?! LOL

I’m getting the impression there isn’t anything that could dissuade you. No amount of proof is sufficient.

What is your answer to the lunar surveyor images, clearly showing all of the Apollo landing sites? Are those fake too?

We’re done here I think, there is some sort of mental issue involved, not amenable to facts, logic, or reason. You know, like Democrats.
