I have been saying something very similar about Watergate for decades now.
It was a Media coup... I am not surprised the CIA was involved.

We've known the CIA was involved in the Watergate burglary as early as 1973 when McCord (lead burglar) told Judge Sirico during sentencing he was working for the CIA during the break-in. (The Washington Post and other media outlets forgot to publish this tidbit.) This was confirmed later in 1974 when the new CIA chief Colby surrendered McCord's file to Senator Baker for inclusion in his minority report on Watergate. Also, two of the four Cubans involved in Watergate testified during their trials they were working for the CIA. (The Washington Post never disclosed this either.) Far more evidence has been uncovered since then. Basically, the CIA was collecting information at the DNC and building dossiers on naughty Democrats who were being serviced by a local madame through a DNC clerk in charge of "hospitality and accomodations."
