There are more than one species of these entities. Some good, some bad. The good are our Angels, Watchers, Cherubim. The evil are the fallen angels, the Nephilim, the Demons. the first and seconds beasts, Abbadon, Etc.
And they have battled each other over the control of man throughout history. It is in the Bible and many other ancient works from around the world.
Billy Graham wrote a very good book about angels a few decades ago. I should re-read it. He covered a lot of those things.
In Seminary, one of the most interesting Theology classes was in Angelology.
