If they are aliens, they are probably watching TV instead of reading...probably something like the Twilight Zone. That said, given the talk about how alien abductions seem to have a sexual element (i.e., the collection of eggs or sperm), they might be watching Baywatch.
Given the abductions and sexual element, they are re-engineering the human species. Sometimes merely checking progress. Many abductees tell the same tale. The greys are often described as “automations” or “dolls” that are animated by a spirit being that uses it to manipulate physical substance.
