BTW, the aliens/demons issue is interesting because frankly, we don't know much about demons either. It's is easy to jump to conclusions based on what we've seen in literature or even hasty or unsophisticated Biblical interpretations which might be completely off the mark.

I tend to encourage the use of the root word "daemons/daimons" instead if only because it is a description of some kind of ethereal being (of which we still know nothing) positioned between God on one extreme and humans on the other.

As you probably know I am not persuaded by the “God-Demons/Angels—Man” template.

McKenna’s simple explanation of why that does not make sense is his story of the little child.

The child sees a beautiful flying creature outside the window and stares in wonder.

Then mom shows up and says “that is a bird” “bird” “bird” “say bird”....

and much of the joy is gone....

Human categories not only can impede knowledge but often can take much of the beauty and joy out of life.
