So I am on my way home and have to stop at the store to pickup dinner for myself. The store I go to has employees that wear a blue polo and tan pants. My uniform is black pants and red polo with company name on it. And as I had just got off work I still have my name badge on and side arm in its holster on my hip.
Cue crazy lady. I’m browsing the freezer aisle and she stops me and starts to ask where product x is. She stops dead in her tracks as she sees my gun in it holster. Stops talking and fast walks out of the aisle. I just assume she realized I don’t work there and left to find someone who does.
I go about my business and proceed up to the cashier line. As I’m waiting to get up to check out in comes a swarm of about 8 police officers. They come straight to me with crazy lady behind shouting “that’s him, that’s the guy with the gun.” They point their guns at me and order my hands up. I drop what I have and comply. I state that I work for company z and that I have a permit for my weapon.
They lower and holster their guns after the commotion and apologize for the confusion but say they got a call about a guy walking around the store waving a gun around. I say I’m sorry, but since I have been here my gun has been holstered. Never left the holster.
They turn to the lady and ask if it’s true that I never took my gun out of the holster. She yells that I’m lying and that I can’t have a gun in the store anyway. They of course go and check the security footage and see that I did nothing wrong and let me go on about my business and apologize again for the misunderstanding.
They then turn around and handcuff the lady who called and told her she is being arrested for misusing the 911 system and inciting panic.
The article in the link to the story doesn't say. I can think of a few states it might have occurred in.
I suspect this has to do with a couple of things:
1. Women and their hormones make them insane, at least some of the time.
2. Most men would never act the way these women do, because there's a very good chance that some other man would kick their ass for their behavior/rudeness/disrespect.
There's that old expression that, behind every great man, is a great woman. I would add a corollary, that behind (almost) every crazy man, there is a crazy woman who made him that way.
When I carry (legally, of course), I make DAMN sure it can’t be seen. In the Winter, it’s easier, of course, because the coat covers it up.

I was preparing myself for an ending where they apologize and she just gets to walk away and continue about her Karen-ness, or worse, that they tell you they have to write up a report anyway, and hassle you for a while.

I have a collection of several holsters, IWB and OWB, as well as a Kevin's Concealment holster for the Ruger LCP backup gun tucked in my back pocket. In the winter I usually go with OWB, but in the summer it's IWB.
I’ve thought about OWB for winter. It’s a good idea. I’m gonna start looking, the choices are almost overwhelming. A nice leather one….🙂

Can you clarify on that?
Where I live is now permitless, but if you have a permit, you can open carry even in towns that ban it. However, I haven’t pushed that because of people like your Karen. I’m not saying you should not have open carried. I applaud you LOUDLY.
Yep. That is why she lied. The cops were justified to arresting her.
It is a waste of time and energy to argue with them. Nothing good comes from it. Like two elephants getting in a crapping contest. Your friend probably came to that conclusion after he got off his vacation.

We just got a new RAT governor, and although my WHCP permit doesn't expire until the end of this year, my trainer PTP Gun) recommended I renew it NOW in case this new guy tries to push some stupid stuff on WCHP applicants. Now it's good until 2026.
