The craziest thing about Brock Purdy’s improbable rise? The praise is deserved

Everything about Brock Purdy’s rise is implausible.
By now you know his biography: four good years at Iowa State, an excellent college player. The last player selected in the draft, Mr Irrelevant, he was expected to back up Trey Lance and Jimmy Garoppolo at the San Francisco 49ers. He was pushed into the lineup after injuries to Lance and Garoppolo. The Niners’ title hopes were on the brink. But rather than founder, the Niners are better with Purdy at the helm as they prepare to face the Dallas Cowboys on Sunday for a place in the NFC championship game.
In his seven games since taking over from Garoppolo, Purdy has thrown 16 touchdown passes, run for a couple more, and thrown just three interceptions. The Niners have outscored their opponents 239-120 with Purdy playing the role of conductor. Confident, poised, accurate, and called Brock, there’s nothing not to like about him.

Last draft pick. It's funny how things work out in sports. Brady was the 199th pick in the sixth round by the New England Patriots...Now 22 years later, he's the greatest QB ever.

Unless San Francisco has an above average offensive line and above
average running backs, Dallas will win.
Umm...they have have this guy named Christian McCaffery, one of the best
RB's over the last 5-6 years in the NFL...throw in George Kittle at TE and
Deebo Samuels at WR and they are going to give the Girls D fits...that and
San Fran also has arguably the best D in the NFL...Dak the turn-over
machine will probably have a long day with that bunch.
I am an Eagles fan, so I hope the Girls win because the Birds will have a
tough time with San Fran...if they get by a resurgent NY team this
weekend.

How can you be a Ram fan and despise the Cowboys?
The obnoxious Cowboys fans and the "America's Team" blather.
And hey, there are Bengals fans who hate the Browns and vice versa, despite Paul Brown's role in both.

QB1 gets the glory, and QB1 takes the blame. Been that way since at least Bradshaw & Staubach time...

(Who knew that in 2022 "1984", "Enemy of the State", and "Person of Interest" would be non-fiction?)

Stellar talent in both.

Purdy is a class act. We hate him because he played at Iowa State. Other than that, we love him.

They did, but the folks in Cleveland demanded that the NFL create the legal fiction that the second iteration of the Browns is technically a continuation of the original Browns: not just the name, but the records and Hall of Famers. Everyone played along, but you are quite right. The CLeveland Browns won no Super Bowls until they became the Baltimore Ravens.

I dislike the team immensely, but yes they have Christian McCaffrey as one of their running backs, and left tackle Trent Williams is one of the best in the game.

My dad was good friends with Tex Schramm from high school. When my dad had a heart attack, Tex Schramm was the only person who visited him in the hospital- except for family. I was lucky enough to go to Tex’s home in Newport Beach a couple times - off the charts Cowboys memorabilia there!

Cowboys’ organization back then had class. Something that is sadly lacking in today’s Cowboys’ organization.
