“Obviously, the Russian multi-month campaign has led to extraordinary, huge losses of personnel.” Thousands of unprepared and poorly-equipped Russian conscripts were killed,” the State Department representative said in a comment on the situation on the front in Ukraine.
The situation around Soledar continues to be difficult, but the Kremlin has already realized that the attack on this Ukrainian city cost them very much.
Deputy Spokesman for the U.S. Department of State Vedant Patel said this at a press briefing in Washington.
“It’s clear that Russia’s months-long campaign has resulted in extraordinary, enormous casualties. Thousands of untrained and poorly equipped Russian conscripts have been killed,” the State Department spokesman said in a commentary on the situation at the front in Ukraine.
Patel stressed that this offensive cost the Russians a lot: “The Kremlin itself has admitted that its decision to attack Soledar came at a high price.”
